Wednesday 4rd November – bike *** – Around Felixstowe – sunny.

1 – Sunrise prom walk.

The cough/cold that both Maggie and I have given us another disturbed night so Mag got up early, leaving home before five this morning for a head clearing walk along the prom at Felixstowe. I checked when sunrise was and found out it was just before 7 so decided to take the camera down to the seafront to get some pics a little later. Mag got home at 6.15 as I was about to head out and decided to come with me. It is always great to be out early despite being only 5 degrees this morning but the wind was light and offshore it was a pleasant walk along the prom with only a few open water swimmers, dog walkers and joggers for company. The was a bank of cloud on the horizon but we had a pleasant sunrise and I got some nice pics. Then home for a cuppa and toast warming up with my electric blanket on!

2 – bike.

A morning at home still feeling under the weather but it did not stop Mag doing some trimming in the front garden while I finished my book. As it was still a lovely day, we decided to take a flask of yummy homemade soup to the old pier at Landguard on our bikes. We have not been on our bikes for ages and Landguard was about as far as we were fit enough to go! Down through Langer Park and onto the nature reserve at Landguard with loads of rabbits feeding. It was lovely sitting on the railway sleepers by the River Orwell with the huge container ships just up river with the odd yacht heading out. Then back along the prom, up the pram walk and home. Looking breezy from the North tomorrow but will probably give it a miss as not fit enough to sail in the cold and will save myself for the weekend when hopefully it will be milder and we are better!
